Wednesday 4 June:Nowadays I'm playing online poker at Pokerstars.com. My favorite levels range from 200NL to 600NL. I usually play the big tournaments each Sunday and the freerolls available for Supernova players but I haven't scored big lately. You can check my Tournament Performance Gallery.
You can find me playing in the Poker Rooms using the following aliases:
We talked the other day about the influence Super Tuesday's results had on the fixed betting odds on the US Presidential election. While not much have happened since then, it is surely worth it to take another quick look at the betting markets, since the odds have changed quite significantly. As a matter of fact, I haven't researched a lot about the whole event. I just discuss the odds' movements and betting patterns I see at Betfair. After all, they mean everything to me.
As we have seen in the past (USA Presidential Election 2008 – Early speculation for betting, trading and charts), in late November
the Democratic party was favorite to win (1.50), the next US president would be
a woman (1.78) and Hillary Clinton was a big favorite over Barack Obama (1.36).
Yesterday it was the famous Super Tuesday as they call it, when a big number of
states voted for the candidates of each party. Let's see at the time of writing
(10:00am) how the odds have moved.
The
United States Presidential Election of 2008 is scheduled to be held on November
4, 2008. The two major parties for candidacy are the Democratic Party and the Republican
Party. Currently the available odds for betting on them are 1.50 and 3.00 in
Betfair. Although it's rather early to really discuss about the winner, it's
quite interesting to examine the politics betting markets and take account previous
similar events. I have already showed how we could trade during the Greek
Elections in 2007 and how we could take advantage of different bookmakers by
arbitraging the fixed odds.
Eurobasket 2007 is closing to quarter semi-finals stage and this is a good opportunity to discuss how we could make money betting and trading basketball. While it is not a popular sport to bet or trade according to the liquidity and volume and in relation to horse racing and football, eurobasket provides some good spots for bettors or traders to take advantage of due to the increased interest.
Let's see some graphs, examine the odds and profit before the championship even ends...
It is only a week until the Greek Elections and yesterday the famous debate took place on tv. Five party leaders answered questions made by known reporters of several Greek television channels. This is a good example to see how prices and in particular fixed betting odds are influenced by news, rumours and actual events.
