Posting your winnings or losses in your blog won't increase visits. Usually a gambling blog includes the gambler's trading or betting tips and their results. Winnings tend to be more often posted than big losses, proving that the gambling blog's owner is a winner in online gambling. Do readers care though for your performance or should you not publish your P&L? I believe your blog's traffic would increase if you posted something for useful for the casual gambler than brag about your profits.

Blogging is fun, but what about live broadcasting of sports trading, betting or online poker videos? Live streaming of me trading, betting or playing online poker fascinates me but what about my gambling blog's readers? Would they be interested in joining and viewing such a live broadcast if it was available? After all, I should not bother at all unless someone is watching. So, here is your chance to let me know if you would watch that kind of a live event.

How was my gambling blog's traffic in 2009? According to Google Analytics my gambling blog was visited more than 71,000 times, each visitor viewed 2.71 pages, they usually stayed for less than 4 minutes and more than half of the visitors came from search engines! My blog's average bounce rate was about 60% and 62% of the blog's traffic were new visitors. Here are the traffic statistics of my trading, betting and poker blog for 2009.

Blog Monetize
|

Placing banners and selling text ad links to monetize your gambling blog comes down to attractive advertising rates. Very often I get asked by other bloggers how much to charge for an advertisement and it was something I was trying to figure out a couple years ago. Even after a thorough search there is not a real and useful answer written anywhere. Advertising rates do seem to fluctuate and depend on the blog's niche and supply and demand. So, how did I do last year?

According to my 5-month old poll, more than half of the online gambling blogs make money! In fact 33% of my blog readers seem to own a gambling blog and actually not just for the fun but for the money as well! What is even more surprising is that more than 15% are making more than $500 per month! Blogging and correctly monetizing a gambling blog proves to provide a side income for some gamblers. It surely is welcome when a downswing kicks in!

2009 has been a good year for my online gambling and blogging business. I don't really know what 2010 will bring as both of them are not that predictable, but I know that I will be focusing on my 2010 goals for what's worth. My 2010 blogging goals include page rank improvement, traffic increase and more advertising deals along with launches of new blogs. My 2010 gambling goals consist of achieving Supernova Elite status at Pokerstars, winning a 6-figure amount of money at online poker and better money investing in financial markets. According to a saying, your goal should be the sky in order to reach the top of the trees.

Blog SEO

It seems that Google updated their page rank twice this month or so and my blog's PR dropped from 4 to 2! The pagerank helps me sell advertising space at acceptable rates, but I'm worried of future advertising deals since they were made during the time my blog was PR4. On the other hand, I recently read online that page rank is not that important any more regarding advertising. I surely hope so!

Make Money Blogging

Blogging is very popular lately while online gambling has always been popular. Quite a few gamblers write in their own gambling blogs nowadays judging by the emails I receive daily. A gambling blog may also provide additional income to its owner although it will take time until it becomes significant. There may be times though when a gambler turns to his blog for peace of mind and a less stressful occupation, which might actually make more money than his gambling activities. Let us compare the blogging business with the gambling business.

Guest post by David: If you are new to the online gambling arena, free gambling online portals are the best places to explore. This might sound weird at first, but as a fresher it is best to hone your gambling skills before taking a plunge into the real money gambling zones. As a starter I was lucky enough to be advised by my friend to join one of the most acclaimed free online gambling portals, this helped me to polish my gaming skills. However, joining a free portal is not just about brushing up your gambling skills; it leads to some other returns as well. Want to know more, read on.

My sports blog had around 200 to 250 visitors per day until mid-September. In two weeks' time that figure has increased and yesterday my gambling blog hit 1000+ visitors! Is such a big increase in blog traffic possible in just 14 days? Obviously yes but the reason was a post I published discussing the forthcoming Greek Election which attracted a lot of attention and nowadays it receives about half of my blog's traffic. In a way I predicted such a development due to other posts resulting in traffic spikes and in fact I added more content about the Greek Election which also received a lot of traffic. Those two posts get about 80% of my daily blog's traffic nowadays!

My new BMW X6 has already covered 3,000km but I had yet to take it for a photo shoot, like when I bought my Mercedes SLK in 2005. Today I decided to wash the car and take some photos of my BMW X6. Both exterior and interior photos were taken in the afternoon without direct sunlight on the car. I haven't forgotten the requests for a photo shoot of both cars side by side, but given the fact that the parking space is limited, I have to find a more suitable place.
