Today we'll talk about the capital someone needs in gambling and how much money should risk in a single bet. The following questions are 3 of the most common ones, although it is relatively easy to be answered.
-
What
is the appropriate capital I should have in order to be profitable in betting?
There isn't a specific
amount. A bettor can start with 100EUR capital, another bettor with 500 and
someone else with 10,000. Whatever the capital we have, that money should not
be used against basic needs and goods. That is, we have to consider it as a separate
account, where we must not put money for rent, for electrical bills, for buying
bread and water, etc.

What
is the use of defining a capital?
In accordance to the
capital we have defined as available for betting, we calculate the stake
(wager) we should bet at any time. We'd better not stake more than 2% of that
particular capital. There are some bettors who restrict their bets to 1%, while
others are riskier and are willing to reach even 5%. In my opinion, 2% is a
well-balanced percentage.

So,
considering that every bet of ours is 2% of our capital, should we always bet
the same amount?

The quick answer is no. We
can have a scale, according to which we would bet. Let's say that X has 1000EUR capital. His maximum stake is 20 euros. He can calculate for example 4 scales for his
wagers, depending on how certain he is for his bet. These can be 5/10/15/20
euros or any other scaling. However, he must never exceed 20 euros when he
submits a bet.
