Australia v India ,1st Test Preview

Hello and welcome to our preview of 1st Test match.

Our good friend Neil provided it to us and we must appreciate all the homework done by him.

Here is the preview by Neil :

It seems like an age since the last Test match action between England
and South Africa however I have still enjoyed England's surprising
performance against South Africa in the odis and the exciting climax to
the English county season the highlight for me was Durham turning round
a 16 point deficit in the final round of county championship matches to
win the title and hence landing my each way bet on them @ 5/1 which I
mentioned in a preview in April perhaps I should stick to county cricket
as I certainly seem to have had more success in that sphere than
international matches recently.

India play Australia on Thursday morning at Bangalore in the first match
of a four test series the match is due to commence at 5am U.K time
I believe the outcome of this series is particularly difficult to call
with doubts about both teams.
India - the home team are always very difficult to beat in their
conditions and as recently as the beginning of the year they ran
Australia very close in an away test series finally losing the series
2-1 however since then they have drawn a series at home to South Africa
and lost a 3 match series 2-1 in Sri Lanka when some of their more
experienced batsmen performed poorly.
Their overall record in test matches since January 2007 is as follows
Played 19 won 6 drawn 7 and lost 6 this breaks down between home played
6 won 2 drawn 3 and lost 1 and away played 13 won 4 drawn 4 and lost 5
they are currently ranked 3rd in the ICC test rankings with 109 points.

Australia -since the beginning of the year they have lost the services
of Warne, Gilchrist and Mcgrath the loss of three top class
internationals has obviously affected the teams performance however they
have still only lost one test since the beginning of 2007 in May they
won a series away in the West Indies 2-0 although they were put under
pressure by the Windies at various times throughout the series.
They have arrived in India without Andrew Symonds who has been dropped
for disciplinary matters and the loss of his batting is sure to affect
the team further.
It is hardly a secret that spin bowling has a big part to play in most
tests in India and the loss of Shane Warne could well have a major
bearing on this series with none of his replacements possessing anything
near his abilities.
Even so Australia will no doubt be very competitive and be difficult to
beat.
Their overall record in test matches from the beginning of 2007 is as
follows Played 10 won 7 and drawn 2 broken down between at home played 7
won 5 drawn 1 and lost 1 and away played 3 won 2 and drawn 1 they are
currently easily top of the ICC rankings with 138 points.
I have used the last 10 matches dating back to 1987 for the statistical
analysis for Bangalore from these India have won 3 lost 5 and drawn 2
one of these draws against England in 2001 was severely affected by rain
with over 2 days play lost. The toss winner has won 5 and lost 3 and the
toss winner has elected to bat first in all 10 matches. The average
number of overs to complete is 340 and the average innings score is 302
however in the last two tests to be played here both matches have gone
the full 5 days and the average innings score has increased to 415.
Team news this remains a matter of conjecture at this stage but my guess
is that India will play their 5 most experienced batsmen
Dravid,Ganguly,Laxman, Tendulkar and Sehwag keeper Dhoni two spinners in
Captain Kumble and Harbhajan and three pace bowlers from the impressive
young quick Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan ,R.P Singh and Munaf Patel
Australia - batsmen captain Ponting, Michael Clarke, Hayden Jacques and
Hussey keeper Haddin all rounder Watson their three most experienced
pace bowlers in Lee, Clark and Johnson and a spin bowler either Cameron
White who has more of a reputation as a one day bowler and hard hitting
batsman or off spinner Krejza who has not impressed in the warm up
matches.
Weather- I have checked three internet weather sites one shows little
chance of rain the other two show the possibility of some rain however
these sites can be notoriously inaccurate.
My tissue for this match is below
India 2/1
Australia 2/1
The draw 2/1
This may appear to be a gross simplification however there have only
been 2 draws in the last 10 matches and one of these was severely
weather affected that would put the draw price @ 4/1 the last two
matches played here have gone the whole distance with one finishing in a
draw and both India and Australia have strong batting line ups on paper
so I have reduced the price to 2/1 I cannot split the two teams in my
mind at the moment particularly with India possessing superior spin
bowlers in what should be advantageous home conditions so I have gone
with 2/1 on any result .
At the time of writing the best prices available with the bookmakers are
as follows India 12/5 (boylesports) Australia 5/2(sporting bet to a few
pennies! ) and the draw 5/4(William Hills & Paddy Power) and on the
exchanges to back India 3.5 Aus 3.7 the draw 2.2.
I have already got a little on the draw at an average of 2.55 and will
look to trade out of this if it dips below 2.0 early in the match I
shall also be looking to back any result if the price drifts above 7.0
on the first morning however I will mainly be following Dips trading
rooms advice for this match my £25 fun bet with the bookies will be
placed on Australia as they are marginally the highest price im sure
sporting will allow a £25 bet!
Good luck and regards
Neil

Please check back after sometime for preview and 1st innings plan.
As a rule nowdays we don't involve in prematch odds unless any true freelay around 1.3x .
.................
P.S :

Thanks
..............

1st Update : Another match today Eng/S.A 2nd ODI at same time which we are covering in live trading room.So plan is to involve minimum in this match ,probably only 1 trade in starting overs of 1st innings.
..................
2nd Update
Preview & 1st Innings Plan :

1.Day-Night Game ,3rd back to back match at this ground.

2.Average score ground and 250+ very good score to defend.

3.Pitch take turn late so batting becomes difficult as game progress.

4.Weather:
Chances of rain.Presetly clear.

5.Teams :
Plenty of changes in both sides because it's a dead rubber but no confirm news so far.

6.Market mood :
Again with Lanka but not blindly.
Presently odds are 1.8

...............
Summary is :

Standard theory "Win toss , bat first , score 230+ and win match".

India won last 3 matches but because it's a dead rubber we don't know how important this match to them.

................
Predicted target odds :

(A) If India bat first :

310 1.2x
290 1.3x
270 1.5x
250 1.8x
230 3.2
210 6
190 9

*All are India odds.

(B) If Lanka bat first :

310 1.2x
290 1.3x
270 1.4x
250 1.6x
230 2.8x
210 5
190 7

*All are Lanka odds.
...............

1st innings plan :
It is going to be almost same like last match.

.................
(A) If India bat first :

Plan is :

1.Back 200@2 Lanka if comes in 1st 15 overs with stop loss 30 ticks.
If stop loss not hit then take profit whenever you get chance.

(B) If Lanka bat first :

Plan is :

1.Lay 300@1.6 Lanka if comes in 1st 15 overs with stop loss 14 ticks.
Take profit whenever you get chance.

Gl
................
*I will try to post a update after 7-8 overs.

...............
3rd Update :
Lanka 7/1 in 6th over.
India 1.61
1.Back 100@1.8 India if comes with stop loss 30 ticks.
Take profit at 1.3x
................
4th Update :
Lanka 96/4
Odds India 1.74
Poor liquidity due to England match.
Back India now and take zero position on India (Murali & Vaas not playing so odds are going to be in India's favour at innings break).
No plan to involve again till 2nd innings.
Gl
.................
Innings Break :
Lanka 227/6 in 50 overs.
Odds India 1.74
Historically chase is difficult at this ground but Murali and Vaas both not playing so you may see India 1.2x very early.
Small back India now and then green up whenever get chance.

Gl

..................
Update :
India 70/3
Match delayed by rain.
Last trade not going our way but still good book position on any result thanks mainly to big lay Lanka @1.6 in 1st innings because that trade never hit stop loss and India traded @1.2x lowest in 1st innings.
Well D/L may come in picture now so it's risky to involve further.
Take equal green position on any result now.
We are also heading towards big profit in England v South Africa, 2nd ODI in live trading room.
All the best.

India v Sri Lanka, 4th ODI -27th August -2nd Innings {Inplay}

8th Update :
Lanka 190/7 in 41 overs.
India 1.03
Game is almost over unless any miracle.
No plan to involve further.

Very good match for us.
If you want to ask me which trade i enjoyed most in this match then i'll tell you 1st Trade > Back Lanka 1.8+ in starting overs of 1st innings.
That was the safest trade of the match and here our little knowledge of cricket betting comes.
Good night.
.................
7th Update :
Lanka 125/4 in 28th overs.Odds 1.31.
Plan is :
Back India 100@1.6 if comes with stop loss 20 ticks means lay 90@1.8 if drift.
Reason for this trade is India may touch 1.6 but going to be big resistance to reach 1.8
due to required run rate and market mood ,if stop loss not hit then green up whenever you get chance.
Gl
...............
6th Update :
Lanka 93/3
India 1.41

...............
5th Update :
Lanka 61/2 in 16 overs.
India 1.65
It's time to level our book now.

Take equal green position on any result now.
Next plan :
I want to wait for India 1.2x or Lanka 1.4x to lay for safe trading (volatile market is expected and may be D/L come in picture sooner or later because there is chances of rain).
Although i will post a small plan after 5 overs.
Gl
...............
4th Update :
Lanka 42/2
India 1.36
Lay 50 more now and let it run.
Back plan 80@1.65
Gl
.................
Phewwwwwww.
What was that 1.5 without wicket ?
Market with India totally IMO.
..............
3rd Update :
Lanka 29/1 in 7 overs.
Lay 50@1.7 India now.
If more wicket in next 5 overs then don't do anything ,just wait.
All the best.
..............
2nd Update :

Lanka 24/0 in 5 overs.
Lanka favourites now.
Going to be easy chase IMO but you never know.
Plan is same and after 1 wicket we may consider back Lanka 2.4+
Gl
................
Innings Break Update :

India 257/9

Odds 1.82
Well our predicted target odds once again proved right and spot on.
...................
Plan for 2nd innings 1st 15 overs :

1.Lay Lanka 200@1.45 if comes with stop loss 12 ticks.
Take profit whenever you get chance.

2.Lay India 100@1.45 or below if comes upto 2 wickets with 15 ticks stop loss.
Take profit whenever you get chance.

So far these two main plan and other plans according to match situation after 15 overs.
All the best.
