Lately I don't post my personal poker statistics and graphs since people usually visit my blog to read articles about mathematics in betting or poker or to watch a trading or poker video. Besides, there's a lot more information on those posts than this one. However, from time to time it's good to let your visitors know how you are doing either in sports betting, trading or playing poker as a reminder that you are really a professional gambler after all!

Poker Run: Do I have Bad Luck?
Poker - Poker Performance
Thursday, 31 July 2008 16:01

Apparently, yes, I am running badly this month and my recent poker run proves it! I am $12,000 below expectation and this has also an effect to my poker game. I did not play poker that much in July, but I expected my good run to continue. June was my best month ever (including sports trading) while now July is by far the worse. I am down $21,000! Just my bad luck I guess!

Poker - Poker Performance
Wednesday, 11 June 2008 04:38

I can't remember last time I was so unlucky at the poker tables. I mean pushing my money at the right time at the right place, and not getting paid! That is surely frustrating. The graph below shows the hands that I was all-in, showing the expected winnings with red and the actual winnings with blue.

All in Luck

Now, tell me that isn't unlucky! Here's a remarkable hand without comments.

How to burn $14,000
Poker - Poker Performance
Tuesday, 20 May 2008 03:38

Apparently playing poker can be an expensive hobby/job. I posted yesterday my last week's poker results and by the time I did that, I had already played some hands quite successfully. I thought the week had started pretty nice, but I would be wrong. When I logged out of the poker rooms, I was looking at my biggest all-time hit I've ever taken in my gambling career. A figure of more than $8,000.

A disastrous poker graph

What is more "exciting" is that I was winning over $5,000 after 1000 or so hands which of course were also lost. I played 600 and 1000NL and can't say I'll do it today. I'll just return to 400NL and hope I make it all back during this week. At least I know I can, since I made more last week.

Closing this short post, I'd like to share a hand with you which began my downswing. It is about a 500BB pot (600NL) lost although I was ahead about 87% on flop when most of the money went in.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $6 BB (6 handed)

Jimmakos ($1346.30)
BB ($1717.60)
UTG ($571.80)
MP ($1736.30)
CO ($360)
Button ($3214.45)

Preflop: Jimmakos is SB with Kspade.gif, Kdiamond.gif.
1 fold, MP raises to $18, 1 fold, Button raises to $69, Jimmakos raises to $246, 1 fold, MP folds, Button calls $177.

Flop: ($519) 3club.gif, 2club.gif, 9heart.gif (2 players)
Jimmakos bets $423, Button raises to $2968.45, Jimmakos calls $677.30 (All-In).

Turn: ($2719.60) Jheart.gif (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($2719.60) 2heart.gif (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $2719.60

Results in white below:
Jimmakos has Ks Kd (two pair, kings and twos).
Button has Jd Jc (full house, jacks full of twos).
Outcome: Button wins $4587.75.

Last week's poker results

During last week I tried to play poker every day. I can't say I missed a day, although there were days when I played over 4,000 hands, and some others when I only managed almost 1,000. I ended the week in profit accumulating about 1,000 big bets in 4 different levels, ranging from 100NL to 600NL.

Bad Beat Day
Poker - Poker Performance
Saturday, 29 March 2008 03:34

Not a great day yesterday. Although I had a great beginning, I then played for 5 or hours without accomplishing anything remarkable and finally lost all the winnings, mainly due to bad beats (read the daily bad beat compilation in the forum). I didn't play quite well to be honest, but still you want to get paid when you are miles ahead. Anyway, I broke even and here's the graph and stats (7.5 straight hours of play).

Bad play, lost $400
Poker - Poker Performance
Friday, 28 March 2008 03:57

What is one of the most important rules when you play poker online or trade in Betfair? Don't be distracted! Obviously chatting online and participating in forums can influence your performance and can affect your decisions. That is why during my first 2,000 hands at 400NL I lost about 6 buy-ins! Ok, let me be honest, I didn't play well. In fact I played awfully. I was burning money during those sessions and lost $2,400 in 3 hours without having any bad beat as far as I can recall. It was entirely my fault. Fortunately I pulled myself together and almost made it all back. I ran at 14BB/100 during the last 1,700 hands, if only I played like that since the beginning of the day. Here's the graph and stats for yesterday's session. I am not including a video today, as I am considering writing another post regarding my sports betting strategy (once more!).

It was a fine day for me yesterday, making over $1,200 in cash poker games. I played for about 5 hours at 200NL tables, winning almost $240/hour which means 12.26BB/100. Here's the graph of the whole session, along with the necessary statistics. I have also included a video in this post, replaying the most important hands from one of my most profitable tables. Take a look inside.

$2K Poker Winnings Today by JimmakosThere are days that I do ok in online poker. There are also days that I do quite well in poker tournaments and cash games. But there are days when my poker skill lines up with luck and I totally own the poker tables. Today was one of those days, winning almost every coinflip, minimizing the bad beats and making very good reads and bluffs. The result? $2,000 profit by playing 200NL 6-max Hold'em poker. Poker Performance by Jimmakos.comJimmakos.com is a gambling blog and what is a gambling blog without images of personal performance? I tested my skills at $200 NL Poker yesterday and made some good money, winning almost 7 buy-ins. Although I played just for 3 hours, it was certainly a nice payday, increasing my bankroll by $1,300. Here are the poker session's stats along with the performance graph.
