Wednesday 4 June:Nowadays I'm playing online poker at Pokerstars.com. My favorite levels range from 200NL to 600NL. I usually play the big tournaments each Sunday and the freerolls available for Supernova players but I haven't scored big lately. You can check my Tournament Performance Gallery.
You can find me playing in the Poker Rooms using the following aliases:
I can't remember last time I was so unlucky at the poker tables. I mean pushing my money at the right time at the right place, and not getting paid! That is surely frustrating. The graph below shows the hands that I was all-in, showing the expected winnings with red and the actual winnings with blue.
Now, tell me that isn't unlucky! Here's a remarkable hand without comments.
Results:
Jimmakos has Ad As (one pair, aces).
MP has 8h 8d (three of a kind, eights).
Outcome: MP wins $6514.
I have also stopped publishing my daily profit or loss in the right top column since no one was really interested, considering the clicks on those links.
I finished in 4th place in both of today's Pokerstars.com VIP Sit and Go tournaments featuring WSOP Champion Joe Hachem . That meant $400 for me although the 30,000 points used for entry fees are equivelant to $450. However, I managed to win the bounty for eliminating Hachem when the following hand happened:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed)
Preflop: Jimmakos is UTG+1 with A, K. 1 fold, Jimmakos raises to t300, 2 folds, JoeHachem raises to t1125, 3 folds, Jimmakos calls t825.
Flop: (t2400) A, 7, 5(2 players)
Turn: (t2400) T(2 players)
River: (t2400) Q(2 players)
Final Pot: t2400
Results in white below:
Jimmakos has Ah Kd (one pair, aces).
JoeHachem has 7s 9c (one pair, sevens).
Outcome: Jimmakos wins t2400.
Email from Pokerstars: "[...]Congratulations on eliminating Joe Hachem from the VIP 1-table match, Tournament #90607251. A credit of $250 has been made to your PokerStars account.[...]"
Pokerstars.com has scheduled two VIP Sit and Go tournaments with WSOP Champion Joseph Hachem on Friday morning. These two SNGs are available for all Pokerstars' players willing to spend 15,000 Frequent Player Points (FPPs) on a ticket for each tournament. I will be playing in both of them as I have done in the past against Daniel Negreanu and Chris Moneymaker. You can watch the videos of those tournaments where I finished 4th against Daniel and 5th against Chris.
Now, a couple of words about who Joseph Hachem is.
Today I'll
show how we can make use of an excellent article written in 2+2 forums about
finding leaks in our game with the aid of Poker Tracker. It is not necessary to
read the article, since I'll discuss each point separately here accompanied by
my personal statistics. If you do have the application you can check your own
stats in the end or you can simply see how a poker player can improve his
skills by studying himself. My analysis will be based on the hands I played
this year at 6-max No Limit poker tables (233,579 hands).
When we
play poker online, we either press buttons or type in numbers. We constantly
have our hands on the mouse or the keyboard in order to act in time, while at
the same time we are thinking about our game. Maybe you can play perfectly and
not getting tired but that is not the case for others. Most players find it
difficult to calculate bet sizes compared to the pot, while others multitable
over 4 tables and find it difficult to reload their chips over and over again.
Fortunately, there is help available.
Although
the following programs have been around for quite some time and I myself use
them for many months, it seems that many experienced players neglect them while
new ones haven't heard of them. Let's
take a look at the most useful ones. Remember, they are all free to use.
