Wednesday 4 June:Nowadays I'm playing online poker at Pokerstars.com. My favorite levels range from 200NL to 600NL. I usually play the big tournaments each Sunday and the freerolls available for Supernova players but I haven't scored big lately. You can check my Tournament Performance Gallery.
You can find me playing in the Poker Rooms using the following aliases:
Apparently
yes! Or so it seems. Today I took a look at Bet Angel's web page and I noticed
a banner in the right column with the title: "2008 £1k to £100k Challenge".
That rang a bell since Adam Todd from RacingTraders
had attempted such a challenge in the past. So I decided to visit the link
wondering what kind of blog I will bump into this time. And I must say, it's a simple
but VERY promising blog.
We talked the other day about the influence Super Tuesday's results had on the fixed betting odds on the US Presidential election. While not much have happened since then, it is surely worth it to take another quick look at the betting markets, since the odds have changed quite significantly. As a matter of fact, I haven't researched a lot about the whole event. I just discuss the odds' movements and betting patterns I see at Betfair. After all, they mean everything to me.
As we have seen in the past (USA Presidential Election 2008 – Early speculation for betting, trading and charts), in late November
the Democratic party was favorite to win (1.50), the next US president would be
a woman (1.78) and Hillary Clinton was a big favorite over Barack Obama (1.36).
Yesterday it was the famous Super Tuesday as they call it, when a big number of
states voted for the candidates of each party. Let's see at the time of writing
(10:00am) how the odds have moved.
Today I have once again recorded a trading session of mine. Leicester was the racecourse and I traded the favorite of the 13.10 race which was Earlsfield Raider. I used the Bet Angel Professional trading platform designed for Betfair and I completed my trading activity 30 seconds before the off. I mainly targeted small movements and looked for just a few ticks per trade, which they all added up to a healthy profit. Enjoy the video!
Since I'm not performing well at poker, I thought to give the whole sports trading thing another go. So, I traded yesterday the UK Horse Racing markets for about 2 hours and made around EUR 90. That is nowhere near my last year's performance and I'm certain there are other betfair traders making ten times that amount. However, I'm still satisfied with the result for the time being and given 2007 hasn't treated me so nicely, I'll be happy to make that money on a steady daily basis.
Here's the screenshot and some more details about my trading style at the moment.
