Is it ever possible to consider gambling as a profession, one may ask. What kind of profession would that be since the majority considers it a (luxurious?) hobby?

Gambling for sure is one of the most disreputed hobbies, if not the worst, and this is because of the many examples of people driven to economical disaster, which most of the times lead to even worse consequences. The immediate impact is usually behavior's change, psychological pressure, loss of time's feel (and space as well), interest's loss for anything else and results to social living.

However, while this may sound strange, gambling is in everyday life, it can be found in activities which are difficult to understand that they are related to gambling, and it's not unusual people who accuse of gambling, they themselves gamble. When someone has an amount of money and decides to buy a second home, they are investing on property. In fact, they are betting that the property's gain would be bigger than of the bank's interest. When someone fills up their car's tank with petrol in a hurry, they are betting that the petrol's price will rise significantly during the next days, so they want to save some money due to the forthcoming increase.

There are still quite many similar activities which consist the gambling's philosophy, but it's not this article's objective to present these activities. It simply tries to show the FALSE understanding of people against gambling.

Gambling consists of betting, sports, casino, games of luck and card games. However, trading in the stock market is actually gambling as is every other financial market. When someone buys shares, they are betting that the price of the stock will rise (buyer), while someone else (seller) is betting that the price will fall. Therefore, the trading of that shares is in fact a bet between them.

So, in which fileds does the professional gambler work and what profits do they expect ?
