Jim Makos is the nickname I use online since 1995 when I first connected to Internet. As an online investor and internet entrepreneur, I’m willing to take more risks to achieve big goals. Most of these investments are regarded as online gambling for most, but if you manage to develop a mentality, these are all online investing opportunities. I hope I can help you understand the concept behind investing through my blog articles but I'd rather first say a little about myself as an introduction.

In 2003 I was 24 years old and I had just begun my gambling career by learning online how to become a card counter and beat blackjack at brick and mortar casinos. I played for one year before they banned me, but fortunately I was quite lucky not to bust out, since my bankroll was small to withstand any variance. During that time I lived unforgettable moments and I gained a lot of experience, meeting fantastic people who never refused to give me their advice. However I needed to find another way to make money since I was out of business, unless I pursued professional blackjack abroad.

After 6 months of studying about probabilities and money management online, I bumped into a betting exchange, known as Betfair. It was 2004 and sports trading betting odds was entirely new and unknown in Greece. According to some Greek forum I may have been one of the first sports traders online by that time. I wouldn't know because I was too busy learning how to make money trading the UK horse races. After a couple of drawbacks, I began trading in October 2004 and never looked back since then. Then came the summer of 2006 and my online winnings started to decrease and eventually I couldn't make it pay in 2007. Fortunately I had already found out about another online gambling opportunity, called poker!

Although nowadays most gamblers are playing online poker, the good days of the card game seem to have passed. Everyone wants to know how to make money in online poker and many training websites with poker videos and poker educational material have been introduced, helping people to improve their poker skills. As a result the edge of good poker players has decreased, and while there are still big winners making tons of cash at the poker tables, it is becoming more difficult to make a living out of online poker. I may have not quit playing online poker, but I'm more into stock and forex trading.

I spend most of time in stock trading and currency trading at the foreign exchange lately. Forex trading is becoming the new trend for all wannabe traders, but you have to remind yourself that you are up against world banks and big sharks. Of course a trader can make money to live off from online trading, since the amount of money traded daily is huge all over the world, but the risks are big enough to wipe out bankrolls in a blink of an eye. Internet has brought worldwide stock markets to our feet and an investor can buy stocks from Hong Kong to USA while living in Europe. Personally, I always thought that in the end I would end up as a trader in finance!

Gambling online means many hours of web surfing. It was inevitable not to take advantage of another great online investing opportunity known as blogging. Professional bloggers make a lot of money, but it is not an easy task. You have to learn how to write useful posts, how to promote your blog and how to place advertisements, otherwise known as blog monetization. Domain business is a hobby that turned into a fascinating work for me, being in love with computers since my first PC, an Amstrad 1512. I occasionally buy domain names and sell developed websites, although I do prefer to design and blog. Maybe one day I could make a comfortable living out of my domains and give up gambling all together. Until then I will keep on investing online and blog about my online business and share my experiences as an internet entrepreneur.
